. Mário Passos Furtado is from Lisbon, Portugal, since 1953. He grows up in this city and in Paço d'Arcos, where the Portuguese colonial war entraps him. Member of the FAP (Portuguese Air Force), he proceeds to Ota air base (in which April 25th, 74 - democratic revolution day - found him) and he is sent to Luanda, Angola (General Air staff), in 1974 and 1975. Later on, he finishes a graduation in Literature and almost completes an MA in Education Science ((Lisbon University). His main teachers, among others, were Eduardo Prado Coelho, Maria Helena Mateus and Albano Estrela.

A Portuguese teacher of secondary education, for almost 30 years now, he worked in radio broadcasting stations (both public and private) and in the public television (RTP1) as an author and coauthor of cultural content. He teaches at the Lusíada University (International Relations and Diplomatic Training) for ten years.
. With 30 years of experience (in Spain, Holland, UK and Italy) as an author and co-author and co-project manager of development projects and special publications (Development Education, Fair Trade) he is in contact with CIDAC, a Portuguese development NGO. The referendum in East Timor led him to this country, where he is an observer for the Portuguese government.
. He does photography (exhibited on a collective Timor in Fine Arts Academy, Lisbon, 2000), and he has published several works on various websites.
. He writes, composes, captures and treats images (still or moving) without discipline or haste: it is a supreme pleasure and a privilege, to feel a desire to create, to adapt, to recreate and to be able to do so.
